## Basalt underfoot. *Wheat on the wind.* Wine that tastes like where it grew.

Faux Vines Estates is a small family winery tucked between Mill Creek and the rolling wheat country of southeast Washington. We farm four blocks by hand, pick by taste, and bottle only what the vintage gives us.

Our story

## Farmed by hand between the river and the mountains

We started with one block of Syrah and a borrowed tractor. Today our family farms four sites across the valley, each one picked row by row when the fruit tastes right, not when the calendar says so. The wines are made in a small downtown cellar and aged in French oak until they are ready to talk.

The vineyards

## Four blocks under one big sky

From the cobblestone bench along Mill Creek to the loess slopes that look up at the Blue Mountains, every block brings something different to the glass: dark fruit, savory spice, a line of fresh acidity. Walk the sites with us.

How we work

## Three rules, *every vintage*.

**01**

### Pick by taste

We walk the rows every morning through harvest and call each pick when the seeds turn brown and the skins taste ripe.

**02**

### Ferment gently

Small open-top fermenters, native yeasts where the vintage allows, and punch-downs by hand. Nothing rushed.

**03**

### Wait

Reds rest in barrel for up to two years, then in bottle until they are ready. Patience is the house style.

## Join the Valley List

Our wine club brings the valley to your door. See current membership levels, benefits and terms on the wine club page.
